ATEX Certified Explosion-Proof Mobile Phones for Bahrain’s Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Sector

Bahrain hosts the Middle East’s first commercial oil discovery (Jebel Dukhan, 1932) and remains a strategic refining and petrochemical hub in the Gulf. Major hazardous-area sites — the Bapco Modernization Programme (BMP), Sitra Tank Farm, GPIC fertilizer complex, the new Bapco LNG terminal at Hidd, and ALBA pot lines — operate continuous Zone 1/21 classified process units. EPC contractors and shutdown crews require certified intrinsically safe phones and tablets for inspection rounds, permit-to-work coordination, and emergency response across Sitra and Awali.

Bahrain’s strategic position as the GCC’s aluminium smelter capital (via ALBA) and a regional banking / logistics hub adds further demand for ATEX devices in marine, port, and bunkering operations at Khalifa Bin Salman Port and Mina Salman, where bulk fuel handling and ship-to-ship transfers require explosion-proof communication tools.
